Fellowship Objectives
Patient Care (PC)
- Provide compassionate, appropriate, and effective treatment for substance use disorders.
- Perform comprehensive assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Use evidence-based practices to manage addiction and its comorbidities.
Medical Knowledge (MK)
- Demonstrate knowledge about the established and evolving biomedical, clinical, and cognitive sciences related to addiction medicine.
- Understand the pharmacology of substances of abuse and the medications used in addiction treatment.
- Stay current with research and advances in the field.
Systems-Based Practice (SBP)
- Demonstrate an understanding of the healthcare system and how to utilize resources to provide optimal care.
- Coordinate care across various healthcare settings and with different healthcare professionals.
